Where is it situated? How can one reach the place where Dignity Lifestyle is located?
Dignity Lifestyle is located at Neral, 80 km churchgate, Mumbai on the Mumbai-Karjat Road. It is on the main road that leads to Matheran Hills from Neral town. By train you have to board at V.T by Karjat train that takes one hour and 30 mts to reach Neral. We will be running shuttle service from the railway station to our estate. Auto rickshaws are available from the station to the site. By car one has to take the Mumbai-Pune highway, take turn to Karjat at Chowk, signboards are placed on the road leading to the site.

How many acres have you bought?
About 25 acres.

ELIGIBILITY

Who can stay in Dignity Lifestyle?
Any man, woman, or couple or sisters or brothers above 55 years can join Dignity Lifestyle.

If a man is 55 years, but wife is only 50, can we get admission?
Yes.

Is it necessary to be a member of Dignity Foundation to enroll in Dignity Lifestyle?
No.

ENROLLMENT

What is the procedure to enroll?
Booking is already open, closing on April 30 2004.

Model Cottages
Site visits are being arranged to see the models.

Likely Completion Date: October 2005/January 2006
Residents are expected to start occupying their allotted units by October 2005 on completion of all official formalities, and completing 100% payment.

While enrolling do you require proofs of date of birth, nomination, address for an emergency, etc?
Yes, our form will take care of all that. No marriage certificate is required.

Is there a Separate Guest House for relatives/visitors?
Yes.

What are the charges
About Rs.600 per day including meals.

What are the common facilites?
. Dining Room - changing cuisine (segregated kitchen for vegetarian/non-vegetarian)
. Computer surfing/emailing. If you want you can have computer at cottages also. You have to pay separately for Internet connection, but here is a central Internet Room also common to all residents. There surfing is possible, but you will be charged.

. Special Ayurvedic Spa with therapies - on payment basis as per therapy

What are the Developmental activities you talk about in newspapers? Village development, etc?
For all round development in villages in the vicinity, a cluster of six development oriented projects for the welfare of people of the villages will be run and managed by retirees who wish to make productive utilization of their time and maturity. These will be funded by Dignity Lifestyle. Details will be made available to the residents at the time of entry. A full second career option is made available for interested persons.

What are the special Geriatric and Gerontological Care Services you are talking about in newspapers?
Trained by a reputed institute in Australia, our Social Workers will personally facilitate the mapping of successful ageing processes of every resident who joins. This will be done in line with the assessment results of the cognitive and physical motor skills of the resident.
The Psychologist in-house also guides group therapy sessions for residents in need of venting their mental worries and those who require support group relationships.

Will the monthly fee stay permanent? When will you increase it?
At least for the next 5 years we will try to hold the price line -but no absolute guarantee can be given.

What are the medical formalities to be undergone ? Is a check-up necessary?
No medical check-up. Declaration is sufficient.

If members of the Enrichment Centre would like to join Dignity Lifestyle, what happens to his Enrichment Centre fee?
They are independent. The services cannot be interchanged.

Will any preferences be given to chartered members of the Foundation?
Waving of registration fee period is over at the end February.

AFTER MY LIFETIME

After I die if I want to transfer my Cottage to my relative, is it possible?
No. After your lifetime, the Unit will automatically go back to Dignity Foundation. The people on the waiting list will be given priority.

After I die will my wife be asked to change her cottage?
No. She has paid for it, and she will continue to live in it.

ILLNESS

What about ill old? We read about Alzheimers people also being taken care of in Dignity Lifestyle.
Yes, we have a Geriatric Care Unit with 100 beds. Booking for ill persons will start in October 2004. Payments and other details are being worked out.

Can I keep my husband who has Alzheimer's in my Cottage only and look after him?
Yes. You don't have to necessarily admit him in the Geriatric Centre, but the care available there will not be available in the cottage.

Supposing I get Parkinsons, will you take care of me?
Yes, throughout your lifetime, we will take care of you. We have a separate geriatric Care Centre. Only the enhanced monthly maintenance fee will have to be paid.

HOLIDAYS

How long can my children stay in the Guest House
Up to one full month - 30 days.

Can I go on holidays and keep my cottage in tact?
Yes, you can go for any length of time. If you want you can rent it out to your relative approved by Dignity Foundation for a period not longer than 6 months.
